GIS TECHNICIAN - GIS - GROWTH MANAGEMENT. Under the general direction of the Geographic Information System (GIS) Coordinator, the GIS Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining GIS maps and databases, and providing support to other GIS users and customers.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, computer science, or related field and two years of progressively responsible experience in the operation of geographic information systems using ArcGIS software, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position; or an Associates's degree in geography, GIS, computer science, or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in the operation of Geographic information systems using ArcGIS software, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position; or five years of progressively responsible experience in the operation of geographic information systems using ArcGIS software, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Demonstrated knowledge of cartographic principles. Working knowledge of personal computers and operating systems. Must possess valid driver's license.

Salary: Non-Union, Grade 14, Range $33,092 to $50,377/yr. Anticipated starting salary between $33,092 and $35,651/yr. Days and hours may vary. DEPUTY AIRPORT DIRECTOR - RAPID CITY REGIONAL AIRPORT. Under the general supervision of the Airport Executive Director, manages the day-to-day airport operations and airfield maintenance to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and to ensure safe operations. This position supervises the Airport Operations and Maintenance Supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Airport Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field and four years experience in airport management, maintenance and operations at an airport of similar size, two of which were in supervisory capacity; or an Associate's degree in Airport Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field and eight years experience; or ten year's experience in a related position at an airport, or any equivalent combination of education and experience, either of which provides the following preferred knowledge, skills and abillities: Demonstrated knowledge of management, applicable local, state, and Federal Aviation Administration rules and regulations, safety practices and precautions. Ability to supervise, train employees, maintain records, prepare reports and make presentations. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.Competence in operating a personal computer, including Microsoft Office Suite. Accreditation as an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) and possession of pilot's license strongly preferred. Possess Airport Security Coordinator certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Must possess valid driver's license.

Salary: Non-Union, Grade 23, Range $56,992 to $86,715/yr. Anticipated starting salary between $56,992 and $61,360/yr. Days and hours may vary. EQUIPMENT MECHANIC I - STREETS - PUBLIC WORKS. Under the direct supervision of the Parks Division Manager, Golf Course Superintendent, Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, Airport Director of Certification and Maintenance, and Material Recovery Facility Supervisor, this position services, repairs and maintains vehicles and equipment to related area of work.

Minimum Qualifications: Good knowledge of mechanical procedures, techniques, materials, tools, equipment, and machinery. Ability to read manuals and charts and diagnose equipment malfunctions and accurately complete reports on work performed. Possess current commercial driver's license as follows or obtain CDL within 30 days of employment as follows: Class A CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement. Two-year vocational/technical certificate in operation and repair of gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment or three years experience in repair of gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment.

Salary: AFSCME Union Level I, Grade 11, $13.72/hr. Days and hours may vary.

ICE SPECIALIST - RUSHMORE PLAZA CIVIC CENTER. Under general supervision of the Civic Center Operations Manager, maintains facility, ice making machinery and related equipment. This position may act as lead worker for Civic Center Custodial Maintenance Workers.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and at least three years experience preparing and maintaining ice floor and related equipment. Demonstrated knowledge in the practice and procedures related to ice installation, preparation, and maintenance; typical methods and techniques for maintaining, repairing and building ice; and treatment of water and hydraulic equipment. Knowledge of the proper care for ice equipment, including ice-resurfacer and ice-edger with manual controls, gears, and foot pedals. Ability to read and intrepret documents. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Certification as Ice Technician preferred. Must possess valid driver's license.

Salary: AFSCME Union, Grade 12, $14.42/hr. Days and hours may vary.

APPRENTICE FIREFIGHTER - MEDIC/PARAMEDIC RECRUIT. Applications are taken on a continuing basis. Testing is generally done in the spring of each year. These applications will be used for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for future hiring.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have high school diploma or GED equivalent; attain the age of 18 before hire date; be a citizen of the United States or declare intentions to become naturalized as required by the provisions of South Dakota Codified Law 314; possess a valid driver's license. Apprentice Firefighter-Medic recruit applicants must have National Registry EMT Basic certification or state of South Dakota EMT Basic certification as of test date. Paramedic applicants must also have National Registry Paramedic certification or State of South Dakota Paramedic license and certification. All Paramedic applicants will be required to obtain State of South Dakota Paramedic license and certification by the end of recruit training. EOE.

Salary: International Association of Fire Fighters Union, Grade 15, Starting at Step A, $11.64/hour.

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or at least 64 semester hours of college credits from an accredited institution, or four years experience as a certified Law Enforcement Officer or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the criminal code, of methods and techniques of investigation and surveillance. Ability to maintain objective approach to a problem under unpleasant circumstances, to enforce laws, to reason and make sound decisions in emergencies, to demonstrate skill in use of firearms, criminal investigation equipment and other applicable equipment to crime control and criminal apprehension. Possess valid driver's license, Law Enforcement Standards and Training Commission certificate within one year of hire date and other certificates required.

Salary: Fraternal Order of Police Union, Grade 16, Starting at Step A, $17.57/hour. Annual step increases follow and hourly rates will depend upon the negotiated agreement between the City and the employees bargaining unit. A new employee normally begins his employment at the lowest rate applicable to the job classification in which he is employed, but a new employee with special ability or prior experience may be employed at a higher pay rate. The workweek is forty (40) hours per week. Overtime is paid for work outside of normal scheduled shift.
