The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (R&SVP) is a nationwide, federally funded program through the Corporation of National and Community Service. The federal grant has been sponsored by the City of Rapid City for more than 32 years. R&SVP invites adults age 55 and over to put their life experience and skills to work solving problems close to home. Whether teaching children or adults to read, creating a recycling program or providing much-needed support to non-profit agencies, R&SVP volunteers are making their communities stronger. Locally, more than 500 volunteers make up Rapid City’s R&SVP. These volunteers contribute more than 9,500 hours of community service each month to the Rapid City, Hot Springs and Keystone areas! Senior volunteers can be found in Rapid City’s schools tutoring our children in literacy skills, delivering meals to our home-bound elderly, greeting visitors at the Journey Museum, assisting the Chamber of Commerce (and other non-profit agencies) with their bulk mailings, visiting residents in area nursing homes and a host of other places. R&SVP
has no dues or association costs, whatsoever. However, as an R&SVP
volunteer, you’ll receive: For
